Glad tidings have arrived: the days of sorrow will not remain.
As that did not last, neither will this.
The good news has come: these days of sorrow will pass.
Nothing remains as it was; even this will not remain.
(Resid mozhde — Glad tidings have arrived) announces the verse like the arrival of a long-awaited message. مژده (mozhde) is more than ordinary “news”; it means joyful or welcome news, often carrying a sense of hope after uncertainty or hardship.
(Ke ayyām-e gham nakhāhad mānd — The days of sorrow will not remain) offers a simple but powerful assurance: sorrow has its season, and that season is not permanent. ایّام (ayyām) means days or a period of time, emphasizing that grief belongs to a passing phase rather than an eternal state.
(Chenān namānd — As that did not remain) looks back at what came before. Whatever earlier state or circumstance once seemed lasting has already passed.
(Chonīn nīz ham nakhāhad mānd — Even this will not remain) turns that recognition toward the present. Just as what came before did not last, neither will what exists now. Hafez reminds us that no condition is permanent—not even sorrow.

چنین نیز هم نخواهد ماند (Chonīn nīz ham nakhāhad mānd — Inte heller detta kommer att bestå) riktar samma insikt mot nuet.
